Topic: Appeals

Farmers participating in USDA credit, disaster, conservation, and commodity programs have the right to appeal agency decisions that deny or reduce program benefits. This administrative appeal system is intended to allow farmers to advocate for themselves, without the need for a attorney. However, the system can be difficult to understand, and farmers are held to very strict deadlines. FLAG attorneys have a deep and thorough knowledge of USDA’s National Appeals Division (NAD) regulations and have literally “written the book” about that program. FLAG is able to inform and advise farmers about how to navigate through the NAD appeals system.
